When it comes to navigation, as everyone will understand, there has to be a map involved! The SilverFox controllers are designed to support the map operations and make using the maps while riding a safer and more enjoyable experience.
When attending the different exhibitions and other events we have the great opportunity to discuss with lots of riders out there, which means we are constantly learning about the different map applications that riders are using. The choice of map applications that riders use on their phones and tablets is a choice that is made based on an individual's likes and dislikes, riding locations, language options, and other personal preferences – which means there are a lot of opinions and perspectives!
Sometimes there is a feeling that it would be awesome to have a “SilverFox Map Application” but, the bottom line is that we would not be able to serve everyone’s requirements. It requires serious dedication to map building (skills that we do not possess), and…well…we like to use a few different map applications also! We like the idea that SilverFox users can choose their favorite map application and still “plug-in” the controllers to support their riding experience.
Currently, on the Apps page of the SilverFox website, there are 21 listed map programs and applications that have been tested to work with the SilverFox controllers. The controllers will operate different maps in either the “Function 1” or “Function 2” key set operations, and you can visit the Installation page to understand how to go back and forth between these functions.
After the Helsinki Motorcycle Exhibition this past weekend, with additional questions about different applications and the use of SilverFox controllers, it is time for us to go down the road of exploring the applications, application operations, and understand the benefits/limitations of the controllers in each application! So, stay tuned in the coming weeks as we walk through the applications! And as we learn more about each application, we will be sure to include our findings and experiences by updating the blogs as much as we can!
